Grains Best Management Practice (BMP) Program

The Grains BMP component of Reef Rescue aims to provide grain growers with the knowledge and practices to improve profitability and environmental sustainability of their enterprises.

For the Queensland grains industry, it provides useful data on what practices are being used by growers and how well these align with best practice standards for pesticide application, farm design, rainfall management, pest management and soil fertility set by growers, consultants, DPI&F, scientists and NRM groups.

Behind the Grains BMP modules is an effective industry reporting function, showing trends towards practice changes and percentage uptake of BMPs. These reports assist the Queensland grain industry to demonstrate positive economic and environmental sustainability…read more.
